The 2025 World Rakfisk Championship

Skåbu has long traditions in preserving mountain trout from our local lakes to make what is perhaps the world's best whitefish, råkafisk. These are traditions we are proud of here in Skåbu and the surrounding area. There are many excellent råkåfisk producers in Skåbu and Espedalen.

On Saturday, 29 November 2025, competitors will gather at Skåbu Fjellhotell to compete for the coveted World Championship title and the honour of having made the best råkåfisk of the year. This exciting event celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2025, with lots of fun on the program. This is something you won't want to miss.
